SacTownLocal Shines a Light on Sacramento’s Homegrown Businesses

A new Sacramento-based website is giving local businesses a boost with free spotlights, and it might just be one of the most genuine efforts to support small business in the area.

SacTownLocal.com, run by Content Director Paul Richardson, features writeups on locally-owned businesses in the greater Sacramento area—no franchises, no national chains. Just real businesses with local roots. “We created the site to spotlight outstanding local business owners so the community can get to know and appreciate them, not just their products or services,” Richardson said.

SacTownLocal isn’t just about visibility—they’re also offering incentives to drive traffic to the businesses they feature. Visitors can join the site’s free VIP club to be entered into drawings for gift cards from local companies. Their referral program, dubbed a “Shareable Raffle,” lets users earn additional raffle entries for referring friends.

The goal? Get more eyes on Sacramento’s independent businesses while giving back to the community. Recent businesses featured on the site include Wild and Fly Fitness, Gideon D. Photography, and Beacon Dashboards LLC.

It’s a simple but smart model: feature a business, give readers a reason to engage, and keep everything hyperlocal.
