Newsom Says California Dominates. California Dominates at Failure

By Dean Maddox, Public Safety & Crime Reporter

In numerous recent statements, Governor Gavin Newsom has claimed California “dominates in every single category.” Newsom is preparing to run for president and aims to portray his record as one of admirable success and not the reality he’s created where people must dodge human excrement on the streets of San Francisco, a city he once ran as Mayor.

When you actually examine the objective facts, the truth is California does dominate. California dominates at failure.

California dominates the rankings that punish working families and that drive residents out. The state dominates the bottom of the charts where it comes to the cost of fuel, electricity, business friendliness and much more. That’s why America continues to be in the midst of the greatest West to East migration in national history.

Governor Newsom, if you read this article, I’ve compiled a list for you to read and see where California truly dominates:

California Rankings

Fuel costs
$4.31/gallon.
Second highest in the nation. Only Hawaii is more expensive.
Source: GasBuddy

Electricity rates
49th in the nation (where 50th is worst). Only Hawaii is more expensive.
Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

Taxes
48th in the nation (where 50th is worst). Only New York and New Jersey rank worse.

Business Climate
50th in the nation (where 50th is worst).

Homelessness
Worst in the nation at 187,084 homeless individuals

Net Migration
Highest in the nation net outmigration, or residents leaving compared to moving in, at −7,330 in 2025
Source: ConsumerAffairs, Journal of Consumer Research

Road Quality
Number 43 in the nation

These numbers explain why working families are fleeing California. Newsom is right that California is an example. It’s an example of the consequences of far left liberal policies in action.

California dominates, but not in the way Newsom and the Democrat supermajority who caused this state of affairs wants anyone to notice. California dominates the rankings that show how hard it has become to live, work, and stay here. It dominates the lists that measure high costs, bad outcomes, and people leaving in record numbers. It dominates the bottom of the charts that actually shape real life for real residents.

The facts stated here are the true picture of California. Not slogan, speeches and empty grandstanding. Just the scoreboard.

And on the scoreboard that matters, California is a leader alright, but it’s the leader at showing America what not to do.
