Orangevale, CA — Helping Hands OV – Orangevale–Fair Oaks is turning up the heat this summer with their 4th Annual Salsa Cook Off, set for Saturday, August 16th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Orangevale Grange (5807 Walnut Ave, Orangevale, CA 95662).
Billed as the “hottest event of the year,” the Salsa Cook Off promises a high-energy day packed with salsa tasting, salsa dancing, live music, family activities, food trucks, crafters, and local vendors — all for just $5 admission (kids 5 and under get in free).
Festival highlights include:
- A Salsa Showdown competition, where local salsa makers will battle it out for titles like Best Hot, Best Mild, Best Chunky, Best Blended, and Community Favorite — with celebrity guest judges and public voting deciding the winners.
- A Beer and Margarita Garden for guests 21 and over (ID required).
- Vendors and crafters showcasing their talents and goods, with opportunities for businesses to sponsor or get involved.
For salsa makers hoping to claim the crown, the deadline to enter the competition is August 1st. Festivalgoers can also pre-register by August 1st for fast entry and a chance to cast their vote for the best salsa in town. Tickets can be purchased online here.
Helping Hands OV is a local nonprofit dedicated to assisting low-income, elderly, and disabled residents with everyday needs — a mission rooted in lending “a helping hand” to those who need it most.
