High taxes, free drugs, free booze — and no accountability anywhere.
By Dean Maddox, Public Safety & Crime Reporter
In the Bible it says, “If a man doesn’t work, he doesn’t eat.”
I’m not some religious guy, I pray sometimes, usually when I’m out of ideas, but that line sounds like common sense to anyone who’s ever had to actually earn a paycheck. Here in Gavin Newsom’s California, this place is so liberal it’s just about the opposite of that. If a man does work, he can’t afford to eat because they tax the ever living shit out of him to give his money away to all the people who won’t work.
Free drugs for addicts. Free alcohol delivery for drunks. Billions for the political elite to live like royalty. But if you’re out here on the clock every day, you get to enjoy “record affordability problems” and a tax bill that looks like a ransom note.
California’s one tenth of the nation’s population and yet has a quarter of the nation’s homeless. It’s a beacon. A place where you can live on the beach, contribute nothing, and Daddy Gavin will take care of your lazy ass.
Wildlife officials tell you not to feed bears because they’ll stop taking care of themselves. No shit. People are the same way.
I’m not writing this from some gated community. I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks with a single mom who did the best she could. I work with my hands. I’m not rich, I’m not fancy, but I pay my own bills because that’s what adults do.
And I’ve talked to plenty of bums who say it straight: “I don’t want to work.” That’s it. No dramatic backstory. No explanation. They just don’t want to. Liberals are the ones who turn that into a tragic hero narrative.
Here’s the truth. You’re only a victim if you choose to be a victim. But liberals have created a society where you get bonus points for how big of a victim you can be.
So here’s my solution, and yeah, it’s aggressive: Cut the welfare. All of it. SNAP, corporate subsidies, bloated government salaries — every bit of it. Stop treating taxpayers like a slush fund for the lazy and the connected.
Because unless you have an actual disability (and most people don’t) you can work. You might not like the job. You might think you’re above it. But there’s work. Factories. Warehouses. Farms. Septic tanks. Construction. Somebody’s always hiring if you can show up sober and not scream at strangers.
California has turned non-functional adulthood into a lifestyle.
It’s time to end it. Fly or fall. Stand up or stay hungry.
A whole lot of people need to grow up, and the state needs to stop feeding the bears.
