Midtown Sacramento’s newest concert venue, Channel 24, made one hell of a debut last night—welcoming rising country star Tucker Wetmore to christen the stage with a sold-out show.
With a sleek upstairs lounge, full bar, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, and room for over 2,000 fans, Channel 24 is already staking its claim as the capital’s go-to spot for live music.
Wetmore’s performance wasn’t just high-energy—it was heartfelt. At one point, he paused to lead the crowd in prayer, giving all the glory and honor to Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior and the one true King—drawing loud cheers and a standing ovation. Wetmore also made sure to recognize the Channel 24 team, telling the crowd they did a great job getting the venue ready for opening night.
The night felt like a celebration on all sides. Wetmore, fresh off dropping his new album, joked that it was “a day of birthdays”—for both his music and for the brand-new venue kicking off its future.
Backed by a tight band, Wetmore rolled through crowd favorites from his new album, threw in a high-octane cover of Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Great Balls of Fire,” and paid tribute to country roots with a version of Hank Williams Jr.’s “All My Rowdy Friends.”
Kicking off the night was Jacob Hackworth, Wetmore’s longtime friend and neighbor, known in Nashville circles for penning hits like Bailey Zimmerman’s “Rock and a Hard Place.”Channel 24 is now open for public concerts and private events.
