Sacramento has a one-of-a-kind event coming up this weekend that puts a whole new spin on the phrase “run from the cops.” Instead of dodging flashing lights, locals will be running with the men and women who wear the badge — all for a good cause.
The 9th Annual “Run With the Cops” 5K kicks off Saturday, September 20 at the Old Sacramento Waterfront, and it’s not just your average jog around the block. This community-powered run/walk brings together officers, families, kids, and everyday citizens for a day of fitness, fun, and appreciation.
👮♂️ Who It Supports
The event raises money for two local organizations that serve the heart of Sacramento law enforcement:
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento, which provides trauma and grief support for first responders and the communities they serve.
Sacramento Police K-9 Association, home to the elite K9 units that help keep our streets safe.

Location: Front Street, Old Sacramento (near the California State Railroad Museum)
Race Day Check-in: 7:00 AM

Kids’ ¼ Mile (ages 6 & under): 8:10 AM
Kids’ ¼ Mile (ages 7–11): 8:15 AM
5K Run/Walk: 8:30 AM
